Businesses often generate hazardous waste as a byproduct of their operations. L&M Environmental is here to assist you in navigating the complex web of local, state, and federal regulations governing the management and disposal of hazardous waste. Regulatory agencies at different levels of government oversee hazardous waste through a comprehensive "cradle to grave" cycle, involving various requirements such as plans, inspections, reporting, and record keeping. Comprehending and adhering to these regulations can be challenging, but whether your facility is a small or large quantity generator in need of assistance or you are just starting to generate hazardous waste, we can ensure that you remain in compliance at every stage of the process.
Many facilities generate hazardous waste including items such as:
- Used Oil
- Used Antifreeze
- Oily Absorbents
- Used Oil Filters
- Batteries
Facilities that do so must follow certain requirements regulated by the EPA, DTSC, and other local agencies. L&M Environmental provides services that help your facility stay in compliance.
Hazardous Waste Inspections
An L&M Environmental Consultant will conduct a site walk to assess your hazardous waste storage area and containers, whether your facility is a Small Quantity Generator (SQG) or a Large Quantity Generator (LQG). An inspection report will be generated, highlighting any deficiencies and providing recommendations. These recommendations aim to assist you in meeting requirements such as proper labeling, secondary containment, maintenance, and overall compliance.
If your facility handles hazardous waste drums, we offer support with inspections. Whether guiding you through the process, conducting inspections, or aiding in documentation maintenance, we can help ensure your compliance.
Annual Electronic Verification Questionnaire (EVQ)
To maintain an active EPA ID number and accurately report manifests, all facilities generating hazardous waste and undergoing pick-ups must complete an annual submittal. This questionnaire, facilitated through the DTSC, verifies and ensures the completeness of records. L&M Environmental can assist by reviewing manifest records and ensuring that your facility's submittal is executed correctly.
L&M Environmental also helps with the following compliance requirements:
- Biennial Hazardous Waste Report
- SB14 Reporting
- Hazardous Waste Training
